At Wiggle Rump Ranch, we’re passionate about preserving the exceptional genetics of the Miniature American Shepherd while ensuring our dogs live fulfilling, happy lives. Our Guardian Program offers a unique opportunity for you to welcome a “pick of the litter” puppy, adolescent, or adult breeding dog into your family at a companion price, with financial benefits for participating in our program. This special arrangement lets you enjoy the companionship of an incredible dog while helping us continue to build a superior breeding program.
Your Guardian dog will live with you as a cherished family member while Wiggle Rump Ranch retains breeding rights for a limited time. Once their breeding career is complete, your dog will be spayed or neutered and remain a permanent member of your family. This program ensures our breeding dogs experience the joy of living in loving homes while allowing us to focus on maintaining the highest breed standards.
What You Provide

To be considered for our Guardian Program, you must:
Guardian dogs should never be left outside in a kennel for extended periods. Families with full-time jobs are welcome, provided the dog is a priority after work hours and receives appropriate care, such as daycare and/or dog walkers for younger dogs.
How the Program Works
Females: When a female Guardian dog comes into heat, you’ll notify us immediately. Breeding-related appointments will be scheduled, and after she is bred, she’ll stay with you until one week before her due date. At that point, she’ll return to Wiggle Rump Ranch to whelp and raise her litter. She’ll rejoin your family once her pups are weaned (around six weeks of age). Most females will have 1–3 litters during their breeding career, with timing and health being top priorities.
Males: Male Guardian dogs will remain in your home full-time and may occasionally need to visit Wiggle Rump Ranch for breeding appointments.
If, for any reason, Wiggle Rump Ranch decides not to include your Guardian dog in our breeding program, you’ll receive written permission to spay or neuter them.

- Routine veterinary care, including vaccinations, grooming, deworming, and monthly heartworm prevention (if recommended for your area).
- Training, regular exercise, and socialization.
- Feeding premium foods, supplements, and treats from 509 Pet Pantry.
- Providing a safe, secure home environment with physical fencing and a loving, engaged family life.
Guardians are not responsible for any breeding-related expenses—those are covered entirely by Wiggle Rump Ranch.

Program Requirements

- Live within 200 miles of Ellensburg, WA.
- Provide a safe, secure environment with physical fencing.
- Own (or securely rent) your home.
- Have a schedule that allows your dog to receive consistent attention, especially during puppyhood.
- Have reliable transportation and the ability to bring your dog to us for breeding purposes.
