Our program started with a puppy for our daughter. A close family member had just gotten a Mini Aussie puppy and our research immediately went in that direction and before long we were adding one to our home too.
The 4-H youth program is where our foundation lays. Our children and animals got their training and exposure plus an introduction to the world of what AKC had to offer, even though our dogs were not yet recognized as they were Miniature Australian Shepherds aka Mini Aussies, with NSDR, ASDR, and NAMASCUSA registries. Fast forward to 2011, the Miniature American Shepherd was accepted into the AKC FSS program and that first dog and her girl earned our first AKC title in Agility!! |
